Divisions/Fractions made easy for numbers 17.

We have seen how to find the  decimals of fractions of number 7 and decimals of fractions of  number 13 so far.Similarly we are going to find decimals for numbers divided by 17 and 19.

Example 1 :

What is the result of 1/17 ? Convert to a decimal 

To solve this, we use Kamse Kshaamadaaha-khalairmalaih: "For 17 the multiplicand is 05882353"

We multiply the multiplicand (05882353) by 99999999 using Ekanyunena Purvena or One less than the Previous sutra.We use the same number of digits for multiplying ,so " 99999999 "

Now ,05882353 * 99999999 = ?

Using One less than the Previous sutra,

05882353- 1=05882352

99999999 - 05882352 = 94117647

We get Result = 0588235294117647

Now multiply the result by the numerator ,

0588235294117647 * 1 =0588235294117647

Place a decimal point at the beginning as 0.0588235294117647

AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Therefore , 1/17 = 0.0588235294117647

Example 2:

What is the result of 2/17 ? Convert to a decimal 

To solve this, we use Kamse Kshaamadaaha-khalairmalaih: "For 17 the multiplicand is 05882353"

We multiply the multiplicand (05882353) by 99999999 using Ekanyunena Purvena or One less than the Previous sutra.We use the same number of digits for multiplying ,so '999'.

Now ,05882353 * 99999999 = ?

Using One less than the Previous sutra,

05882353- 1=05882352

99999999 - 05882352 = 94117647

We get Result = 0588235294117647

Now multiply the result by the numerator ,

0588235294117647 * 2 =1176470588235284

Place a decimal point at the beginning as 0.1176470588235284

AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Therefore , 1/17 = 0.1176470588235284

NOTE:
We can do this for any fractions ONLY if we know its multiplicand which can be easy found by (1/anynumber).
