Women's personality and hairs are in sync and complement each other making you look beautiful. Not long ago in my hometown Pondicherry, my hair quality was great. I had wavy, straight hair dancing merrily with the slightest of the breeze and I remember my mom using lots of coconut oils to make them stand in place whenever she combs my hair (though I scorn whenever my hair is being oiled). My hair was a great asset  for me and whenever my friends ask about my hair routine, I would reply to them saying,"It's in the genes".

Though there were people who love my hair, I was envious towards girls sporting free hairstyles. And in case if I happen to do the same, my grandma would start grumbling that I am inviting the devils inside the house acting like one with curtains of hairs covering half of my face. And Shh!.., never speak about haircuts as it was something my whole family dreaded about. No loosening, No cutting. This continued even after I got married, where my dear husband requested me to braid my hair with oil everyday so that he can lovingly offer me Jasmine flower to be planted on my hair.

Then came a day when I was allowed to be care free letting my hair free. Shifting to a new environment filled with stylish women sporting free hairs, long and small made my wish come true in Mumbai.

A brand I trust
Very soon, my hair was free of braids and so of the coconut oils since it did not give me the look I wanted. And before you could come to any conclusion; yes, just in months, I faced consequences of hair fall and split ends. The reasons were plenty. Even the city's bore water is to be blamed and not to forget the pollution. I can notice the difference in my towel and even on my hairbrush.

To bring back the beauty of my tresses, I then followed a basic hair routine of using coconut oil for my hair (Mom was always right), yogurt (I don't like using egg white except for eating) and then tying up my hair whenever possible esp. inside my home and making sure I stick to the same brand of shampoo. I had been using Tresemme for almost four years till now trying almost all of its ranges, the recent one being the product on the left.

My hairs are soft and easy on me but I did have few split ends here and there because of the heat.  I trim them as advised and when I was offered to review Tresemme Split Ends Shampoo, I grabbed the offer and wanted to give it a try. Yes, Tresemme Split Ends Shampoo falls under the brand I currently use and it was a brand I trust.

Tresemme Split Ends Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Shipping and Packaging

The products arrived as promised in a black Tresemme bag along with a booklet. Both Tresemme shampoo and conditioner bottles came in smaller containers and were packed professionally. The contrast colours of the containers - black for shampoo and white for conditioner looked appealing along with a green opener at the top. Another feature that I personally liked is the price. Both shampoo and conditioner costs Rs.80 for 90 ml each and is very affordable.

The Tresemme Split Remedy Shampoo comes in a little black bottle. The shampoo looks pearly white, consistent fluid and looks shiny. Slight bubbles were seen and it reminds me of the rich lather that Tresemme brand itself holds. I liked the slight fragrance that arose from this shampoo, quite different from the brand's other product ranges. The ingredients at the back is as commonly seen in many reputed shampoos. The sulplate content was something that can't be ignored and the Tresemme Naturals, the one I had been using clearly mentioned about the low sulfate contents, an cleansing ingredient. But making my mind for minimal exposure after lubricating this shampoo well, I guess I can try it out to find the result of using it.

The Tresemme Split remedy conditioner comes in a little white bottle. The shampoo looks thick, white and creamy. By the feel of it, the conditioner is very soft and smooth. I felt the presence of sliminess whose intend I guess is to make my hair shiny. The fragrance is again the best from Tresemme, something I vouch for and waiting for to try on my hair.

My Experience, Application and Results

The below image is a screen shot of how my Tresemme weaved magic when I followed my usual  basic hair cleaning regime. I normally lubricate the shampoo before applying it on my wet scalp. I do this  to ensure that I use the right amount of shampoo, reduce concentrated shampoo from being applied directly to my hair roots and also to evenly spread the shampoo to lather on my head.

I noticed that with just a small amount of this shampoo, I got a rich lather. And yes, all Tresemme scores higher on this aspect. After applying the lubricated shampoo and after a slight massage, I rinsed my hair thoroughly making sure that my hair is clean and is free of shampoo. My usual way of shampooing is twice, one with less application of  lubricated shampoo that goes into my scalp and the final one with the remaining shampoo left. By doing so, I get rich lather than the former and also paves way for a better cleaning.

Experience with Tresemme Split Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner
Next coming to the conditioner, a word of advice. Conditioner should not be applied to the scalp or to the roots of your hair. It is a big No-No. Any conditioners used on roots will make your hair greasy and volume-less. Great precautions should be taken while applying the conditioner to the hair.

The instruction at the back of the Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner, clearly tells that you should apply the conditioner from the mid-shaft to the ends of the hair without touching the roots of your hair. I followed it religiously as I don't want my roots to absorb the conditioner which might cause scalp problems. The Tresemme conditioner was so thick, creamy and smooth that I really felt like that it is melting into my hair. Finally, I rinsed my hair with warm water until all the conditioner were washed of completely.

As for drying, I always prefer to tie up my hair with soft cotton towel for at least 15 to 20 mins for the cotton to soak up the water after which I slightly use my hair dryer. But, I prefer using the free and natural summer heat outside to save myself from excess usage of hair dryer which might make my hair too dry. The summer heat in this month is enough to dry your hair in minutes.

Overall, I liked the shampoo and the conditioner. The natural look on my hair did not change and using them in fact added more softness and shine to my hair (see image above). My hair looks healthy. Looking at my hair ends after using this range, I can say that my hair ends look a little thicker and bonded. For my medium wavy hair, the ends were smooth and less frizzy.

Using the Tresemme conditioner added shine to my hair making it super smooth. I always invest in a brand that I trust and would see how my hair reacts when using a specific range of shampoo for a couple of weeks. If all goes well I will definitely stick to that brand range. As for tresemme, I have nothing to complain since I have already mentioned that I have no split ends. But,  if you are someone who has been following this brand and wanted to check how your split ends would react, then should definitely this range a try.
